Marion Déprez

“The brilliant French performance artist Marion Deprez” – Rachel Cooke, IdeasTap

Marion’s expertise as a clown, street theatre and cabaret artist is in connecting with participants in community settings, performing and directing work that is interactive, and engages audiences directly in the interplay of characters. Marion’s past collaborations include Karavan Ensemble, Sabotage Theatre and DreamThinkSpeak.

Marion was mentored by pioneer of verbatim theatre and Tamasha founder Kristine Landon-Smith in 2007, as Assistant Director in Tamasha’s production Lyrical MC. She further developed her Verbatim Theatre process conducting interviews with elderly people as part of Karavan Ensemble’s A Small Museum of Displaced Sea. Marion’s approach as an artist is to create safe, nurturing relationships which encourage open dialogue, play and creativity. She specialises in making work set in non-traditional theatre space.
